FACING ISSUE WITH YOUR PRINTER ?
If your printer is stuck processing jobs or showing errors, clearing the print spooler can often resolve the issue. The print spooler is a system service that stores pending print tasks. When it gets overloaded or a corrupt file is stuck, your printer may stop responding. This guide explains how to safely clear the print spooler on both Windows and Mac.
On Windows, start by stopping the Print Spooler service. Go to Services via the Run command (services.msc), locate Print Spooler, right-click, and select Stop. Then, open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, and delete all files in the folder. Make sure not to delete the folder itself. Once done, return to Services and restart the Print Spooler. Alternatively, you can run the commands net stop spooler and net start spooler via Command Prompt.
On Mac, open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Remove the printer by clicking the minus (-) symbol, then restart your Mac. After restarting, re-add the printer using the plus (+) symbol. You may also manually delete queue files using Terminal if necessary.
After clearing the spooler, ensure that your printer drivers are up to date and retry printing. Regularly restarting your system and canceling stalled print jobs can prevent spooler-related issues in the future.
